Revealing Tianjin's New Energy Vehicle Sales Data in July: Car-buying Willingness of Citizens Obvisouly Increased after COVID-19
Data shows that new energy vehicle sales in Tianjin reached 10,728 vehicles in July, a significant year-on-year increase of nearly 30%. Among them, sales of pure electric vehicles were 7,921, and sales of charging piles were 2,706, increasing by 31% and 27% respectively. Tesla China Region President Wang Juan analyzed that after being affected by the epidemic, Tianjin citizens' thoughts on car purchases have changed, paying more attention to the convenience of charging and high efficiency of coal-electricity replacement by new energy vehicles.
The store manager of a Honda 4S store in Tianjin said that the sales of new energy vehicles, especially plug-in hybrid vehicles, increased significantly in July. Pre-sale periods of some models were shortened to two weeks after subsidies of 50,000-60,000 yuan were introduced, compared to one month previously. Fully electric vehicle models also benefited from the national introduction of 20,000 yuan charging subsidies, with pre-sale demand exceeding supply for many models.
A lady owner of a Japanese new energy passenger vehicle, Ms. Zhu, shared that she had considered purchasing a plug-in hybrid vehicle before, but was worried about only being able to charge within Tianjin city. But now with the continuous improvement of the national super fast charging network construction, it allows her to purchase with confidence. This also revealed that with the guarantee of charging infrastructure construction, new energy vehicle types will become citizens' first choice.
