Tianjin July New Car Sales Hits Historical High, Dealers in High Spirits
According to sales data from the Tianjin Automobile Dealers Association,
total new car sales in Tianjin exceeded 32,000 vehicles in July, a year-on-year
increase of nearly 20%, setting a historical record high. Major brands performed
exceptionally well. For example, BMW sales grew 23%, Honda 21%, and
Mercedes-Benz 19%. Analysts said consumer car buying desire in Tianjin
strengthened amid the domestic economic recovery and various local purchase
subsidies.
Many 4S store managers in Tianjin said that from mid-July, the number of daily reported vehicle deliveries increased significantly compared to June. Some brand's pre-sale vehicle periods were shortened to two weeks from being fully booked in one month earlier. It is understood that under the stimulus of subsidies within 50,000 yuan for car purchases, some consumers decided to upgrade their vehicles in advance. Additionally, as the summer epidemic was brought under control effectively, home consumption shifted to shopping and travel, also boosting auto sales.
The secretary-general of the Tianjin Automobile Trade Association, Zhang Xiaoming, said that in August under the continuous epidemic situation, dealers are full of optimism and vitality. As long as the domestic environment continues to improve, new car sales in Tianjin will remain at a relatively high growth rate in the second half of the year. Brands will also roll out more promotional policies based on sales to attract more consumers.
